Decisions taken at the Department Board meeting dated 16.06.2025:
Updating the Mission:
"To train individuals who can think analytically, are adept at teamwork, closely follow technological developments, constantly renew themselves in line with the IT needs of the sectors, possess strong technical competencies in software development and information technologies, and adhere to ethical principles."
Updating the Vision:
"To be a leading higher education program that is preferred and constantly developing, guiding the development of the sector by training innovative, solution-oriented individuals who can compete at a global level in the field of information technologies."
Updating the Educational Objectives:
To train individuals who know the basic structure and functions of computer systems,
Analyze and determine software requirements, possess programming knowledge, and can use current programming languages and software,
Are able to develop software individually/as a team to solve a specific problem and manage the software,
Adopt the principle of lifelong learning, are open to communication and continuous development, and have internalized ethical values.
Updating Program Outcomes:
Possesses fundamental, current, and applied knowledge in their field.
Has knowledge of career management, lifelong learning, occupational health and safety, environmental awareness, and quality processes.
Follows and effectively uses information technologies, current developments, and applications related to their profession.
Knows the structure of computer systems; has knowledge of assembly, maintenance, and repair.
Installs and uses office and software packages and develops applications with development modules.
Performs the installation, management, maintenance, and repair of operating systems and network technologies.
Has the ability to independently evaluate professional problems and issues with an analytical and critical approach and present solution proposals.
Presents their thoughts effectively and clearly through written and oral communication at their level of knowledge and skills.
Takes responsibility as a team member to solve complex and unforeseen problems encountered in applications related to their field.
Adheres to social, scientific, cultural, and ethical values in the stages of data collection, application, and dissemination of results related to their field. Follows information in their field and communicates with colleagues using a foreign language. Creates algorithms, data structures, and data models necessary for solving problems; performs mathematical calculations. Holding face-to-face/online conferences/talks on "Screen Addiction", "Artificial Intelligence" and "Social Media Use" for primary/middle/high school students in the 2025-2026 academic year within the scope of the "Computer Technologies Department Explains" project
Implementation of the "On-Site Application" and "Business World in Our School" projects
Establishing a student club as the Computer Technologies Department in the 2025-2026 academic year
